Beef Roast Recipe – ( Kerala Style )
INGREDIENTS
1/2 kg Beef (Buffalo meat)
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
2 tsp Chilly powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
2 tsp Pepper Powder
1 nos Lemon Juice
1 tsp Ginger paste
1 tsp Garlic paste
Salt To taste
For Roasting
2 nos Onions
7-8 nos Shallots
1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
2-3 nos Cardamom crushed
1 nos Tomato sliced
2-3 nos Green chilly
2 tsp Ginger Garlic chopped
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Chilly Powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Garam Masala
1 spring Curry Leaves
2-3 tsp Coconut pieces (kothu)
Coconut Oil As required
Salt To taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Cut the beef into small pieces Wash the beef thoroughly under running water and keep it in a strainer to drain off the excess water.
Marinate the pieces of beef with other ingredients for marinating about 1/2 an hours.
Pressure cook the marinated beef.
Heat coconut oil in a pan add sliced onions, shallots, green chilly and curry leaves. Saute well. Sprinkle some salt to saute it quickly.
Add sliced tomato. Stir until onion turns brown.
Add ginger garlic paste.
Add fennel seeds and cardamom crushed.
Add coconut pieces (kothu) and saute it for some time. Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala. The raw smell will fade eventually.
Add cooked meat and mix well. Cook on low flame and stir occasionally.
Add Curry leaves and slow roast until beef becomes dry and dark brown in color.
Serve with ghee rice ,rotti or tapioca.
